Your data
Delete your account or data
You can close your Prend account and remove everything in it, or delete only part of your data and keep the account.
01Delete your account from the app
This is the fastest way, and it works the same on Android and iOS. Open Prend and follow these steps:
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Open Settings using the gear icon.
- Select My account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
The deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone. You will be signed out as soon as it finishes.
02Request account deletion by email
If you already uninstalled Prend or cannot sign in, you can request the deletion by email instead.
Send a message from the email address associated with your account — the one you used with Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple — asking for your account to be deleted. That address is how the account is identified, so a request sent from a different one cannot be processed.
Request account deletionRequests are processed within 30 days of receipt.
03Delete part of your data
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove specific data.
Directly in the app
- Remove a friend: open their profile and choose Delete friend. The connection is removed from both accounts.
- Unblock a user: go to Settings, open Blocked users and unblock them. The block record is deleted.
- Replace your profile photo: upload a new one from My account to overwrite the previous image.
By email request
For anything the app does not let you remove on your own, write from the email address associated with your account and say exactly which data you want deleted. This covers:
- Your profile photo, removed without replacing it with a new one.
- A specific loan or debt record.
- Your notification history.
Requests are processed within 30 days of receipt.
04What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is removed permanently and is not kept in backups for any additional retention period:
- Profile
- your name, email address, profile photo, preferred currency, reputation and loan points.
- Loans and debts
- every loan and debt record stored under your account, including amounts, titles and deadlines.
- Friends
- your friend list, and the entry that represents you in each of your friends' lists.
- Notifications and friend requests
- your full notification history and any pending friend requests.
- Blocked users
- the list of users you blocked, and the records that mark you as having blocked them.
- Sign-in account
- the authentication account that links Prend to your Google or Apple identity.
05What is retained
Two things survive the deletion of your account, and it is worth being clear about why.
- Your name inside someone else's loan record
- If another person recorded a loan involving you, that record belongs to their account and is their own financial history. Your name stays in it for as long as they keep the loan. Only they can delete it.
- Reports
- Reports you submitted, and reports other users submitted about you, are kept so that abuse can be reviewed and acted on. They are retained for up to 12 months and are never used for any other purpose.
